Readylert
Documentation

Everything you need to run Readylert.

Guides, references, and answers for restaurant operators, IT teams, and developers. Updated with every release.

Quick start guide

01

Create your account

Sign up at readylert.com/signup. Enter your restaurant name, address, and select a plan. Your 14-day free trial starts immediately — no card required.

02

Print your QR code

Go to your dashboard, click QR Code in the sidebar, and hit Print. Place the printed QR code in a counter stand or stick it to your collection point. That's it — the code is permanent and never changes.

03

Create your first order

When a customer places an order, enter the order number on your dashboard and click Add Order. The customer scans the QR code at the counter and their phone starts tracking their order in real time.

04

Mark it ready

When the order is up, click Mark Ready on the dashboard. The customer's phone receives an instant full-screen alert with sound and vibration — no app required, no account, no login.

Frequently asked questions

Do customers need to download an app?

No. Customers open your QR code with their camera, which opens a web page. No download, no account, no friction.

Does it work without an internet connection?

Readylert requires an internet connection for both the dashboard and the customer wait page. For events with patchy signal, we recommend ensuring staff have a reliable mobile data connection. Customer polling is adaptive — it backs off gracefully on slow connections and reconnects automatically.

How does the customer know when their order is ready?

The customer's phone polls the Readylert server every 2–3 seconds. When you click Mark Ready, the next poll delivers the alert — typically within 2–3 seconds. If the customer has granted notification permission, they also receive a web push notification even if the browser is closed.

Can I use Readylert on multiple devices at once?

Yes. The dashboard works on any device with a web browser. Multiple staff members can monitor and manage orders simultaneously from different devices.

What happens if I accidentally mark an order ready too early?

The customer will receive an alert. There's currently no 'undo' for a Ready alert — you can add a note in the order, but we recommend using this carefully. A future update will add a brief delay window.
