Announcing Readylert 2.4: Push notifications, analytics v2, and faster alerts
Our biggest release yet. Web push notifications now work on iOS 16.4+, and our new analytics dashboard gives you wait-time breakdowns by hour and day.
Readylert 2.4 is our most substantial release since we launched. It adds two major features that customers have been asking for since day one: reliable background push notifications on iOS, and a full analytics dashboard that shows wait-time breakdowns by hour and day of week.
Web push notifications now work on iOS 16.4+
Until now, Readylert sent alerts via the browser page itself — which meant customers who closed their tab missed the notification. On Android, we already supported background web push. With iOS 16.4, Apple finally added web push support to Safari, and 2.4 takes full advantage of it.
When an iPhone customer on iOS 16.4 or later visits your order page and grants notification permission, we register a push subscription. When you mark an order ready, the push notification arrives on their lock screen even if Safari is closed. Sound plays, the screen lights up, and the customer sees your restaurant name in the notification.
What customers need to do
- Update to iOS 16.4 or later (Settings > General > Software Update)
- Open your restaurant's order page in Safari
- Tap 'Allow' when prompted for notification permission
- That's it — background notifications are now active for this order
Analytics dashboard v2
The previous analytics view showed basic order counts. The new dashboard gives you a full picture of how your operation performs across time. You can now see:
- Average wait time broken down by hour of day — identify when your kitchen slows down
- Ready-to-collected time: how long after you mark an order ready the customer actually collects it
- Day-of-week volume charts: see which days need more staff
- On-time rate: the percentage of orders completed within your target window
- 30-day trend line for all key metrics
The dashboard is available to all Pro and Enterprise subscribers in the Analytics tab of your sidebar. Starter plan subscribers can see a 7-day overview; upgrade to Pro for the full 30-day breakdown.
Faster alert delivery
We've reduced average alert delivery time from 2.5 seconds to under 1.5 seconds on most connections by optimising our polling architecture and reducing server-side latency in the session status endpoint. Customers waiting on the page now see the full-screen alert arrive noticeably faster.
What's coming in 2.5
We're working on multi-language support for the customer wait page (launch languages: English, Spanish, French, Arabic, and Simplified Chinese), custom alert sounds for vendors, and an operator-facing mobile app for marking orders ready without a tablet. Stay tuned.
